We really don’t like trying to predict trends, but everyone is doing it, so we’ll yield to peer pressure and give you our thoughts. Briefly.
The trends in IT haven’t really changed all that much from 2017. The biggest new thing is blockchain technology, which we showcased last month. Bitcoin also seems to be the trend du jour of the moment. The following IT areas of interest have been and remain at the top of most experts’ lists:
- AI
- Analytics
- Edge computing
- The Internet of Things
- Cloud Computing
There are certainly more Big Things afoot, but 5 is a nice round number, and most trends – things such as customer experience; digital communications, workplaces, infrastructure, and business; and cybersecurity – tend to fall within these categories.
