Think your smart phone is awash in apps? Think there isn’t any new task for your computer tablet to perform? Think again. One of the hottest technology jobs in 2013 remains mobile app development, say most experts.
The hottest job? Network engineer. Combine cloud computing with multimedia applications, wireless communications, and high bandwidth requirements, and you begin to understand why network engineers remain the most in-demand IT professionals.
Rounding out the list of the top six hottest technology jobs are:
Business intelligence analysts. Helping companies make critical business decisions will always be in demand.
Web engineers. Both front- and back-end development skills are necessary to keep websites interactive and fresh for potential clients.
SEO marketing specialists. If you build it, they may not come. Gotta find it, first.
User experience specialists. Yes, companies do care about your online digital experience. Annoying, counter-intuitive websites can cost customers.
All of these jobs can draw salaries that range between $70K to $120K, depending on the business location and level of experience. Sounds good, but most analysts say salaries are flat right now, and have remained so for at least the last 5 years.
With any luck, salaries will improve in 2013. Maybe we need an app for that.
