It’s all about data

You can’t get away from data. Everybody’s got it. Everybody’s collecting more of it. Everybody wants to know what to do with it. So it’s no surprise that data analytics tops the list of Most Wanted IT Job Skills.

Over the past three months, employer demand for workers who can analyze large amounts of data has grown more than 58%, according to the Q3 2019 Fast 50 Report from Freelancer.com. That assessment is based on – you guessed it – DATA from around the globe.

What else is hot in the job market? Artificial Intelligence skills probably top the list. And while AI-powered virtual assistants are increasingly popular, human virtual assistants are still in demand.  The ability to work as virtual assistants, jobs that are often conducted remotely, requires a diverse skill set, including customer service, social-media marketing, and blog posting.

If you see yourself as merely a meat-and-potatoes kind of IT professional, take heart. Plain old data processing skills remain in demand. And, according to DATA from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, despite a slow-down in hiring for traditional jobs, all tech-related jobs remain strong.
