Blockchain jobs a good bet for the future

In a culture that takes to new technology like a duck to water (or a Packer’s fan to brats), it seems strange that Blockchain  technology is proving so slow to catch on. Nevertheless, experts insist that Blockchain jobs will be a sure-fire path to future career success.

Blockchain made its public debut ten years ago, when the group known as Satoshi Nakamoto published a whitepaper titled Bitcoin: A Peer to Peer Electronic Cash System. Blockchain, the technology that runs Bitcoin, was hailed as one of the biggest ground-breaking technologies of our times. Despite the hype, some 77 percent of CIOs who responded to a recent Gartner survey said their organization has no interest in Blockchain technology and no plans to investigate or develop it.

Does that mean Blockchain is a dead end as a career path? Not at all, experts say. There are companies, including IBM and Microsoft, pursuing Blockchain. An estimated 1,520 Blockchain startup companies are now looking for workers.

If you do decide to follow the Blockchain path, here are the jobs with the most promise.
1. Blockchain project manager
2. Blockchain developer
3. Blockchain quality engineer
4. Blockchain legal consultant/attorney
5. Blockchain designer
6. Blockchain engineer

Given the priority of cybersecurity in industries as diverse as education, manufacturing, health care, and finance, it seems that Blockchain will only grow in importance – if it does indeed live up to its promise.
