As part of the Biden Administration’s Year of Open Science, NASA is awarding $2.7 million across several different projects this year, with a total of $6.5 million over three years.
What is Open Source Science? According to NASA’s website, it is a commitment to the open sharing of software, data, and knowledge (algorithms, papers, documents, ancillary information) as early as possible in the scientific process.
NASA is promoting change in the openness and speed of access to scientific information by supporting new training opportunities with NASA’s Transform to Open Science (TOPS) summer schools and virtual cohorts.
